ANKARA, Feb 14 (A.A) - Turkish unit which will take place in the International Security Assistance Force (ISAF) in Afghanistan will start to leave for that country on Friday.
Turkish Armed Forces will join ISAF with 261 personnel.
Sources said that after a seeing of ceremony in Ankara, the Turkish unit will fly from Etimesgut Military Airport to Kabul.
Six Turkish officers will be on mission at the ISAF headquarters while the highest ranked Turkish officer will be colonel.
The unit in Afghanistan can be increased to the level of battalion according to the developments.
Besides Turkey, Germany, the Netherlands, France, Italy, Sweden, Spain, Denmark, Austria, Finland, New Zealand, Portugal, Norway, Romania, and Greece also take place in ISAF.
The multinational force deployed in and around Kabul is comprised of almost 4 thousand soldiers.
