ISTANBUL, Feb 12 (A.A) - Syrian Minister of Foreign Affairs Farouk al-Shara criticized on Tuesday the United States and Israel.
Speaking at the Organization of the Islamic Conference (OIC)-European Union (EU) Joint Forum, al-Shara said that the United States could not still understand the concept of ''the other.''
Al-Shara noted that conflicts should be prevented in order to cooperate with the other.
Of course, Al-Shara said, they were understanding and sympathizing the U.S. people following the September 11th attacks.
Al-Shara noted that because, they had also suffered from the behaviours of Israel.
Today, Israel was showing September 11 as a reason with the support of the United States, Al-Shara said.
Al-Shara noted that the things that Israel had done to Palestine could not be accepted.
Stressing that the media was very important in today's world, Al-Shara said that the media of today was under occupation, unilateral and was showing the incidents only from the perspective of the United States.
Al-Shara said that the media could not make the voice of the other world heard, and asked through which media the Arab world would make its voice heard in a powerful way today.
The Syrian foreign minister said that the roots had to be diagnosed well to fight against terrorism and asked how they could treat a disease if they did not know its cause.
