ANKARA - Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan left Tuesday for a working but non-official visit to the United States seeking to drum up investment in Turkey, government officials said.
Erdogan, accompanied by Economy Minister Ali Babacan and Finance Minister Kemal Unakitan, was scheduled to deliver the inuagural address at the annual Sun Valley business conference in Idaho.
"In our contacts with business leaders, we will inform them about economic developments and the opportunities for investment in Turkey," Erdogan told reporters.
It will be his second trip to the United States in less than a month. He met President George W. Bush June 8.
