U.N.E.S.C.O. Secretary General Due In Ankara On Feb 13

ANKARA, Feb 11 (A.A) - United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) Secretary General Koichiro Matsuura will pay an official visit to Ankara between February 13-15 upon the invitation of Foreign Minister Ismail Cem.
A statement of the Foreign Ministry said on Monday that this would be the first official visit of Matsuura, who was appointed to the UNESCO Secretariat General in November 1999 for six years, under this title.
The statement noted that President Ahmet Necdet Sezer and Prime Minister Bulent Ecevit would receive Matsuura.
Matsuura would meet with Foreign Minister Cem, National Education Minister Metin Bostancioglu and Culture Minister Istemihan Talay, the statement said.
The statement pointed out that Matsuura would exchange views about education, science, culture and communications during his contacts.
Matsuura, who would meet with the members of the UNESCO Turkish National Commission Executive Board, would be presented with honorary doctorate by the Bilkent University, the statement added.
