T.A.I. To Participate In The Production Of Transportation Airplanes

ANKARA, Feb 10 (A.A) - Turkish Aerospace Industries (TAI) will produce a number of important parts of the world's most advanced giant A400 transportation airplane according to a final agreement signed between eight countries and Organisme Conjointe de Cooperation Matiere d'Armament (OCCAR).
The A400 transportation airplanes will replace C-130 Hercules and C-160 Transall planes which have become old.
TAI will participate in all stages of design development, production and support after sales.
According to the production program announced to the countries by OCCAR a short time ago, Turkey will be given ten airplanes with a 5.10 percent participation share.
The first of the 196 A400s will fly in 2006 and the first delivery will be made in 2008.
