US Special Forces Member Rescued in Afghanistan

U.S. Cable News Network says one member of a U.S. Special Forces unit missing in eastern Afghanistan since Tuesday has been rescued.
Quoting an unidentified U.S. official, CNN said the soldier who managed to evade the enemy was rescued Sunday by U.S. forces and is in good shape.
There was no word on the fate of the other members of the unit. They disappeared just before a helicopter going to their rescue was shot down, killing all 16 troops on board.
Meanwhile, suspected Taleban insurgents have killed a pro-government Islamic cleric in southern Afghanistan. Local officials say Mawlavi Mohammad Nabi Masah was ambushed Sunday as he was leaving home near Kandahar city. He later died of his wounds at the U.S. military hospital in Kandahar.
