Denktas And Clerides To Meet For Tenth Time

LEFKOSA, Feb 6 (A.A) - Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC) President Rauf Denktas and Greek Cypriot administration leader Glafcos Clerides will meet for the tenth time within the scope of the direct talks.
The direct talks were started on January 16 to find a permanent solution to Cyprus question.
United Nations Secretary General's Special Envoy to Cyprus Alvaro De Soto is participating in the talks as observer.
Today's meeting will start at 5.00 p.m. At this meeting, the two leaders are expected to conclude the security issues which were started to be discussed on Friday.
The two leaders will start debating territory and ownership issues following the security issues.

ECEVIT ADVISES MOLLER NOT TO ''INTERVENE'' IN CYPRUS TALKS PROCESS
Prime Minister Bulent Ecevit had advised Danish Minister of Foreign Affairs Per Stig Moller that the European Union (EU) should not ''intervene'' in the new dialogue process between the two sides on Cyprus.
Sources said on Wednesday that relations between Turkey and the EU, and Cyprus, Iraq and Afghanistan issues had been discussed during the meeting between Prime Minister Bulent Ecevit and Moller.
Ecevit had conveyed Turkey's opinion about Cyprus and sensitivity toward the issue to Moller who would proceed from Turkey to Cyprus to have meetings with both sides on the island after wrapping up his contacts in Turkey, sources said.
Sources said that Ecevit had advised Moller that the EU should not ''intervene'' in the new dialogue process between the two sides on Cyprus.
Informing Moller of historical dimensions of relations between Turkey and Afghanistan, Ecevit said that international community should expend efforts for development of Afghanistan. Ecevit stressed importance of formation of a regular police and army forces in Afghanistan.
Sources said that also the letter that Ecevit had sent to Iraqi President Saddam Hussein had come to the agenda of the meeting. Ecevit had conveyed U.S. President George W. Bush's opinion saying, ''at the moment, there is not any decision taken about Iraq'' to Moller.
When Ecevit recalled Turkey's uneasiness about the list of terrorist organizations prepared by the EU, Moller said that the list would be reviewed.
Ecevit said he hoped further progress would be recorded in process of Turkey's EU membership during term presidency periods of Spain and Denmark.
