Treasury Suffers 3.3 Quadrillion Liras Cash Deficit In January

ANKARA, Feb 5 (A.A) - Treasury's cash balance suffered a 3.3 quadrillion Turkish liras (TL) of deficit while non-interest surplus became 624 trillion TL in January.
Releasing a statement on Tuesday, Treasury Undersecretariat said that total revenues on cash basis in January was 4 quadrillion 907 trillion TL while total non-interest expenditures was 4 quadrillion 283 trillion TL.
Noting that Treasury's cash deficit became 3 quadrillion 320 trillion TL after interest payment of 3 quadrillion 944 trillion TL, it said that total expenditures on cash basis was 8 quadrillion 226 trillion TL.
Recalling that the cash deficit in January was financed by net domestic and external borrowings, it said that domestic borrowing in the same period was 3 quadrillion 568 trillion TL and external borrowing was 501.6 trillion TL.
