WASHINGTON, Feb 4 (A.A) - IMF Executive Directors Council approved Turkey's new stand-by agreement on Monday.
''IMF Executive Directors has approved the Turkish government's three-year stand-by agreement of 16 billion U.S. dollars which covered the 2002-2004 term. This decision will enable Turkey to get 9 billion U.S. dollars from the IMF immediately.
The remaining five billion U.S. dollars of the 14 billion U.S. dollars which is expected to be offered to Turkey before the end of this year will be released after other meetings.
