NEW YORK, Feb 4 (A.A) - Justice and Development Party (AK Party) leader said on Monday that Middle East and Cyprus questions could not be solved by gunforce.
Delivering a speech at Foreign Policy Institute in New York, Erdogan gave the message that mutual understanding was obligatory to solve those questions.
Responding to questions of participants following his speech, Erdogan said, ''trying to solve disagreements by gunforce as Israel is doing cannot give any result. The problems have to be solved by mutual understanding and dialogue.''
Erdogan noted that the similar approach was also valid for Cyprus.
Reiterating their determination to become a full member to the European Union (EU), Erdogan underlined ''the importance that they attributed to the democratization of Turkey.''
Erdogan is expected to leave for Turkey later in the day.
