WASHINGTON D.C., Feb 4 (A.A) - International Monetary Fund (IMF) Executive Board is expected to take up and approve Turkey's new letter of intent and stand-by deal on Monday.
The IMF is foreseen to provide 16 billion U.S. dollars of foreign support to Turkey during the new stand-by period which will last till the end of 2004.
No problem is expected to come out at the meeting of the board about Turkey.
A total of 10 billion U.S. dollars of the 16-billion U.S. dollars credit which the IMF will give, will have the quality of fresh resource.
An evaluation pertaining to the situation in Turkey, is expected to be published after the announcement of the IMF decision. The evaluation will bear the signatures of IMF Managing Director Horst Koehler and IMF First Deputy Managing Director.
Meanwhile, the World Bank Executive Board will hold a meeting to approve the financial and public sector adjustment loan for Turkey worth of 1.3 billion u.S. dollars on Tuesday.
