VAN - EU Commission's Turkey Representative Hans Joerg Kretschmer has indicated that he thought there would not be any different conditions from the ones that had been determined earlier as a result of a discussion on the draft text of the document which would determine the framework of full membership negotiations with Turkey.
Kretschmer, who is currently in eastern city of Van to attend opening of EU Information Office, attended ''EU Information-Network System Training Seminar''.
European Commission is expected to approve the document which will determine the framework of full membership negotiations with Turkey today.
Kretschmer told reporters that today was an important day, noting that European Commission would present the draft document on negotiation framework to ministers of the commission.
Stating that some conditions of entry talks between Turkey and EU would be determined in this draft, Kretschmer stressed that conditions had been set on December 17th. He added that he thought EU members states would not make a surprising proposal.
Kretschmer indicated that European Commission planned to establish a dialogue among nongovernmental organizations in Turkey and EU, stating that there were some problems in the public opinion in Turkey and EU. He noted that dialogue with nongovernmental organizations was very important for elimination of these problems.
Underlining that negotiations between Turkey and EU would not be very easy, Kretschmer said that Turkey was passing through a very important transformation and reform process and this could create some difficulties.
Noting that Turkey's EU accession would be very beneficial to Turkey and EU, Kretschmer said that EU project was one of the most successful projects in the world.
Replying to questions on the constitutional referendums in France and the Netherlands, Kretschmer said that results of these referendums were not about Turkey.
Kretschmer added that Turkey should fulfill all criteria to join the EU.
