BURSA - In an official trip organized by the Union of Chambers & Commodity Exchanges of Turkey (TOBB), Turkish entrepreneurs from Iraq and Balkan countries met in Bursa.
Turkish-origin businessmen from Bulgaria, Macedonia, Kosovo, Romania, Western Thrace and Iraq met with businessmen from Bursa. The visiting businessmen expressed their hope to work with entrepreneurs from Bursa in the industries such as food, cleaning materials, construction equipment and services, auto spare parts, machines, home and office furniture, curtain and home textiles.
Huseyin Kerim Beyoglu, Member of the Executive Board of Iraqi Turkmen Businessmen Association, remarked that they are in Turkey to establish a commercial bridge.
''We are pleased to meet Turkish businessmen from the Balkans. We want to see more Turkish businessmen taking part in Iraq's re-construction. Iraq is not what you see on TV. There exist excellent opportunities for Turkish businessmen, especially in the construction sector,'' told Beyoglu.
Speaking on behalf of the Balkan delegation, Galip Galip, a former deputy from Western Thrace who represented Turkish minority between 1996-2004 in the Greek Parliament, has stated that Turkish businessmen can enter the Greek market with auto spare parts and various foodstuff,'' noted Galip.
Meanwhile, Macedonian Turkish Businessmen Union Chairman Kemal Nazim has stressed that his union is ready to assist all Turkish businessmen and businesswomen who want to enter the Macedonian market. ''Macedonia's chances of getting into the European Union (EU) is very high. Turkish businessmen can purchase industrial facilities that will be privatized,'' commented Nazim.
The group which actually visits Bursa includes 11 Turkish entrepreneurs from Iraq and 10 from the Balkan states.
