Turkish And Greek Municipalities To Participate In Marmara Earthquake Rehabilitation Program

ISTANBUL, Jan 25 (A.A) - Turkey's first fund advisor registered in the EU Exandas Istanbul will bring together Turkish and Greek municipalities at Marmara Earthquake Rehabilitation Program (MERP), it was reported on Friday.
Exandas announced that the EU would donate 15 million Euro for MERP projects which include preparing municipalities in Marmara region for a possible earthquake, crisis management, strenghtening their technical and personnel capacity and social rehabilitation.
Due to Turkey's and Greece's similar experienced in earthquakes, Greek city Grevana chose Duzce, and Agios Ioannis Rendi and Leivadia cities chose Yalova as sister cities.
The projects prepared for Yalova and Duzce will be promoted at two meetings on Jan.28 in Yalova and on Jan. 29 in Duzce. The EU will finance the projects.
