ISTANBUL, Jan 22 (A.A) - Hungary's potential was promoted on Tuesday to the circles of Turkish business within the scope of cultural cooperation between Hungary's Consulate General and Yildiz Technical University (YTU).
Gabriella Zimboras, Hungary's Consul General in Istanbul who spoke before the presentation on ''Hungary's Economic and Scientific Development'', said that the importance of science shaping up the world was increasing in that period when the world entered a new millennium.
Zimboras said that evaluating the scientific activities, supporting them financially and spiritually and motivating scientists were extremely important.
Gabriella Zimbaros noted that Hungary was a big country when the achievements and efforts of the scientists were considered.
He added that 12 Hungarian works were presented with the Nobel prize.
YTU Rector Professor Ayhan Alkis said that the presentation which was held within the scope of the cultural cooperation between the university and Hungarian Consulate General aimed to contribute to economic and scientific development of Hungary.
Touching on the cultural ties between the two countries, Alkis said, ''I would like to express that we will be glad if we, as the university, can contribute to the economic and cultural cooperation between the two countries.''
Following the documentary, namely ''Sparks'', explaining the Hungarian scientists and their inventions were shown, Hungarian Trade Attache Andras Hajdu made a presentation on ''why Hungary should Be preferred?, economical glance and investment options.''
The representatives from Small and Medium Scale Industry Development Directorate (KOSGEB), Istanbul Greater City Municipality Foreign Relations and Yapi Kredi Insurance attended the presentation and the exhibition.
