ANKARA, Jan 22 (A.A) - Foreign Minister Ismail Cem will meet with Israeli Foreign Minister Shimon Peres in New York.
Following his meeting with Cem, Israeli Foreign Affairs Ministry Undersecretary Avi Gil told reporters that Cem and Peres would meet in New York in a week.
Cem is expected to go to New York to attend World Economic Forum (WEF) annual meeting which will take place between January 31 and February 4.
Gil said that his meeting with Cem was a good opportunity to promote the relations between the two countries and noted that they wanted to improve the bilateral relations between Turkey and Israel.
Asked if he invited Cem to Israel, Gil said that they were pleased to see Cem and other Turkish officials in Israel and stated that they were inviting Turkish officials to their country.
Gil pointed out that they hoped that Peres would visit Turkey soon.
Upon questions on Manavgat water project, Gil said that they intended to put that project into practice and that they attributed importance to that issue.
Gil noted that they needed to receive some information from Turkey, adding that thus, they could make technical and legal evaluation.
