DIYARBAKIR - Huseyin Kerim Beyoglu, a member of the executive board of Iraqi Turkmen Businessmen's Association, has stated that his association wants the fingerprint of Turkey on Iraq's re-construction.
Beyoglu and other members of the Iraqi Turkmen Businessmen's Association are in Turkey upon an invitation from the Turkish Union of Chambers and Commodity Exchanges (TOBB).
Beyoglu and his delegation visited the Diyarbakir Chamber of Commerce and Industry Chairman Kutbettin Arzu.
In a lunch reception given in his honor, Beyoglu indicated that some forces want to hurt Turkey's commercial presence in Iraq.
''Iraq is the area of an earthquake and needs everything. Turkey must show its capability in serving the Iraqi market,'' told Beyoglu.
Beyoglu stressed that his delegation will get together with businessmen in Ankara, Istanbul, Bursa and Gaziantep and invite them for cooperation in Iraq. ''In Ankara, we will meet businessmen from the Balkans. We are confident that Turkish businessmen can make good business in Iraq. We are humans of the same culture. We are two brothers,'' noted Beyoglu.
Meanwhile, Diyarbakir Chamber of Commerce and Industry Chairman Kutbettin Arzu indicated that the security issue in Iraq is exaggerated. ''Turkish businessmen can freely make business in Iraq. Our Iraqi brothers are waiting up to 10 days in Baghdad for a visa. The Turkish government must provide visas in shorter periods of time. We are brotherly countries and must use the cultural relationship in conducting business,'' told Arzu.
