Denktas - Clerides Meeting Ends

LEFKOSA, Jan 21 (A.A) - Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC) President Rauf Denktas who had his second meeting with Greek Cypriot leader Glafcos Clerides said that he and Clerides discussed ''general issues.''
Denktas stated that the meeting lasted one and a half hour and they would continue their talks on Wednesday.
Denktas said that it was too early to make a statement and refrained from giving more information about the meeting.
Denktas' adviser on constitutional and legal matters Mumtaz Soysal said ''all issues were discussed'' at the meeting. When asked if he was hopeful, Soysal said ''We're doing everything to be hopeful''. Soysal also indicated that it was a good beginning.
Denktas and Clerides will meet again on Wednesday at 5 p.m.
