LEFKOSA, Jan 17 (A.A) - The delegation of Turkish sport federations headed by Youth and Sports Director General Kemal Mutlu and Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC) sport federations held a meeting on Thursday.
The two delegation discussed sanctions in sports which are currently imposed on TRNC and what should be done to end the sanctions at their meeting.
TRNC Labour, Social Security, Youth and Sports Minister Ahmet Kasif said that they aimed to further develop the relations between the federations of the two countries.
Kasif said that young people of TRNC wanted to be successful in foreign countries.
Kemal Mutlu said that the sanctions in sport would be overcome by cooperation and solidarity of the sport organizations of the two countries.
TRNC National Olympic Committee Chairman Eyup Zafer Gokbilen said that the committee had announced Kemal Mutlu as ''the person who made the greatest contribution to TRNC sport'' in 2001.
Gokbilen stated that they wanted the contributions which had been launched by Mutlu to continue.
Pointing out that all type of sport games between the two countries was on the agenda, Gokbilen said that within this framework, they would work to ensure TRNC national teams to take part in the international sport events in Turkey.
