ANTALYA, Jan 17 (A.A) - Turkey plans to export 10 million branches of flower to Russia for the St. Valentine Day on February 14.
Antalya-based Flower Exporters' Association Executive Board Chairman Lutfu Gobus told the A.A on Thursday that Turkish flowers had gained an important place in the world markets.
He said that they had been preparing for special days in February and March.
Gobus said that they planned to export 10 million brances of flower to Russia for the St. Valentine Day on February 14.
He added, ''we plan to export 15 million branches of flower to Russia and European countries for the World Women Day on March 8, 1.2 million branches of flower to Japan for religious ceremonies in March, and 10 million branches of flower to Britain for Mothers Day in March. We expect to obtain an income of 5 million U.S. dollars from the exports of 46.2 million branches of flower.''
