WASHINGTON D.C., Jan 15 (A.A) - State Minister Kemal Dervis for Economy said on Tuesday, ''Turkey was successful in financial policies, and got positive results. However, Argentina failed to display the same success.''
State Minister Dervis who is accompanying Prime Minister Bulent Ecevit during his visit to the United States, attended a conference organized in cooperation between the International Monetary Fund (IMF) and the World Bank on ''Fight against Poverty in the World''.
Speaking at the conference, State Minister Dervis said, ''Turkey has successfully implemented financial policies. Besides, Turkey has recorded extremely important progress. However, Argentina failed to display the same success.''
''Economic crises in Turkey and Argentina unveiled that fixed foreign currency systems failed in countries which have weak banking sector and are not successful in financial policies,'' he added.
