Kutan: It Is Not Possible For Ecevit To Say 'no' To Demands Of U.S.

ANKARA, Jan 15 (A.A) - Recai Kutan, the leader of the Felicity Party (SP) claimed on Tuesday that Prime Minister Bulent Ecevit went to the U.S. as the prime minister of a country whose economic balances would go worse if no money is provided from abroad.
''It is not possible for Ecevit to say 'no' to demands of the U.S.,'' alleged Kutan in the parliamentary group meeting.
Noting that Prime Minister Ecevit went to the U.S. together with the package of laws adopted by the parliament in a short period of time, Kutan said that Prime Minister Ecevit will ask U.S. President Bush to give eonomic aid to Turkey in return of these laws.
Kutan said that the government headed by Bulent Ecevit destroyed not only the economy, but also democracy and social values.
Kutan also called Prime Minister Ecevit not to give promises to the U.S. which won't be approved by the Turkish people.
Noting that the U.S. would take action in Iraq soon, Kutan said that Prime Minister Ecevit can't guess the results of that.
''We don't know what economic, political and social costs Turkey will pay,'' he said adding Turkey can't give in to the threats of the U.S. about formation of Kurdistan.
