ANKARA, Jan 14 (A.A) - Prime Minister Bulent Ecevit sent a letter to Pakistani Head of State Pervez Musharraf and Indian Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee, and expressed Turkey`s concerns felt over the tension escalated between the two countries.
Foreign Ministry issued a statement and said Ecevit sent letters to Musharraf and Vajpayee pertaining to the tension which erupted in Pakistani-Indian relations following terrorist attacks on Indian parliament.
Ecevit pointed out that escalation of tension between the two important forces of the region, would negatively effect the interests of the two countries as well as the stability of region.
Ecevit in the letter stressed the importance of international fight against terrorism, and called on the two leaders to act with restraint, and set up dialogue for the solution problems through peaceful ways and make cooperation.
