ANTALYA (AA) - Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan on Sunday refused the allegations that the government contradicted the European Union (EU).
Erdogan said Turkey walked in confidence on the way to the EU and integrated with the world.
``Some people say the ruling contradicted the EU, or the United States turned its face. Our government targets to have friends, not enemies. Turkey is not enemy with its neighbors now. We continue to progress on EU process,`` Erdogan said.
RUSSIA`S BAN
Erdogan said he was aware of a difficulty which erupted with Russia recently, and noted that efforts were underway to overcome the difficulty with Russia on exports of Turkish vegetables, fruits and particularly the tomatoes.
``I will talk to Russian President about the issue and explain him what has been going on. I hope to get a positive result. We also have deficiencies and mistakes. We should be more sensitive and careful on this issue,`` Erdogan said.
TURKEY`S TOURISM TARGETS
Erdogan said Turkey progressed towards its tourism targets and noted that there was 30 percent increase in rate of tourists visiting Turkey since the new year.
