ANKARA (AA) - Turkish Petroleum Pipeline Corporation (BOTAS) held a tender several days ago in order to choose the company that will construct the Turkey-Greece natural gas pipeline.
The offers came only from the Russian Federation and Italian Saipem for the Canakkale strait where an underwater pipeline will be constructed.
Saipem made an offer of 33 million Euro and its offer is currently under evaluation by BOTAS authorities.
Another tender for the land portion of the pipeline was also held several days ago. Once the pipeline is completed, natural gas will flow via Turkey to Greece and to other European countries.
