ISTANBUL (AA) - Economic program experiences of Turkey and other countries were discussed in International Monetary Fund (IMF)-World Bank Group Annual meeting in Istanbul on Friday.
Sources said that IMF Executive Director Willy Kiekens and World Bank Executive Director Gino Alzetta chaired the meeting. Officials took up financial implementations and debt policies of Turkey and other members of the group.
Officials stressed that after economic crisis in 2001, Turkey recovered rapidly and decreased inflation rates and provided economic growth by implementing a successful economic program.
Turkish Treasury Undersecretary Ibrahim Canakci and Central Bank Governor Sureyya Serdengecti represented Turkey in the meeting.
