JERUSALEM/GAZA (AA) - Turkish Health Minister Recep Akdag met Palestinian Health Minister Zihni al-Wiheidi in Gaza on Thursday.
After completing his meetings in Israel, Akdag proceeded to Palestine and met his Palestinian counterpart Al-Wiheidi in Gaza. Al-Wiheidi informed Akdag about the general health problems in Palestine.
In the meeting, the Palestinian side welcomed the proposal of Akdag who offered to send medical equipment and experts to hospitals in Palestine and to train Palestinian health personnel both in Turkey and Palestine.
Akdag also suggested Al-Wiheidi that Al Sifa hospital in Gaza and Ataturk Research Hospital in Ankara could cooperate as sister hospitals.
Later the two ministers visited a hospital built by Saudi Arabia in Gaza and decided to cooperate to overcome the expert need of the hospital by the contribution of Turkish Cooperation and Development Agency's office (TIKA) in Ramallah.
