NEW YORK (AA) - Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan who has completed his meetings in Washington D.C. has arrived in New York. (Thursday).
Turkish Foreign Minister and Deputy Prime Minister Abdullah Gul, National Defense Minister Vecdi Gonul, State Minister and Chief Negotiator (for EU entry talks) Ali Babacan accompany Erdogan.
Prime Minister Erdogan will meet UN Secretary General Kofi Annan at lunch today. Cyprus will be the number one topic in Erdogan-Annan meeting. After meeting Annan, Erdogan will hold a news conference for Turkish journalists.
Later Erdogan will meet representatives of Turkish associations in New York and then address the dinner to be hosted by Foreign Policy Association.
Prime Minister Erdogan will attend the breakfast meeting to be hosted by Anti-Defamation League on his honor on Friday. Erdogan will be presented an award by that Jewish organization as the Turkish diplomats had saved the lives of many Jews during the Second World War.
Erdogan will also be interviewed by some American media institutions, and he will also meet American businessmen.
Erdogan who will meet Turkish community living in New York in a reception on Friday night, will leave New York for Turkey on Saturday.
