I.M.F. Group Meeting To Take Place In Istanbul

ANKARA/WASHINGTON D.C. (AA) - International Monetary Fund (IMF) Group meeting will take place in Istanbul tomorrow (Friday), sources told the A.A on Thursday.
IMF Executive Director Willy Kiekens is expected to chair the meeting of executive directors of 10 countries including Turkey.
The group comprising of Turkey, Austria, Belgium, Belarus, Czech Republic, Hungary, Kazakhstan, Luxembourg, Slovakia and Slovenia is the one having the fourth biggest quota in IMF behind the United States, Japan and Germany.
Turkish Treasury Undersecretary Ibrahim Canakci and other high-level officials attend the meeting.
Meanwhile, IMF sources said that organization of the meeting in Istanbul was the sign of increasing importance of Turkey for the IMF.
Previously, IMF high-level officials described Turkey as one of the most successful models in IMF.
