ANKARA (AA) - A group of Greenpeace activists held a demonstration in front of the Turkish Prime Ministry today. The balloons they carried read ''no to nuclear bombs and weapons.''
Ziya Cobanoglu, one of the Greenpeace activists, chanted a slogan ''we do not want nuclear bombs.''
Greenpeace Mediterranean Nuclear Non-Proliferation Campaign Expert Aslihan Tumer has remarked that as Greenpeace they are against all global nuclear weapons. According to Tumer, there are 90 nuclear bombs in Turkey.
''We held our demonstration at the Prime Ministry to send the message to Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan that our eyes are on the prime minister,'' said Tumer.
Tumer indicated that her group has been trying to get an appointment from Erdogan for the past month but have not been successful. ''We will send Erdogan a post-card for nuclear non-proliferation and send him the message that we are closely scrutinizing his office,'' commented Tumer.
