EDIRNE (AA) - Edirne Governor Nusret Miroglu said on Wednesday that the works of building a friendship monument on Kavak island of Meric river where the borders of Turkey, Greece and Bulgaria unite, have come to the last stage.
Miroglu said that a monument on which ''Towards A United Europe'' would be written on three languages (Turkish, Bulgarian and Greek) would be erected on the island.
Miroglu remarked that they held a meeting with Bulgarian, Turkish and Greek officials on June 6th in Bulgaria and discussed the details of the initiative which was launched by the Foreign Ministries of the three countries.
''We signed an agreement about it in the meeting and Bulgaria will erect the monument,'' Miroglu added.
