GAZIANTEP (AA) - Exports by Turkish automotive sector rose by 1,639 percent between 1992 and 2004.
The Association of Automotive Industry announced on Wednesday that exports by the sector increased from 569.5 million USD in 1992 to 9.8 billion USD in 2004.
While exports of vehicles climbed by 5,327 percent, exports of by-industry rose by 584 percent.
Turkey has become a automotive manufacturing center in its region.
Most of goods were exported to the EU-member countries with an amount of 7.2 billion USD.
Germany which was on the top of the list of those countries with exports of 1.5 billion USD, was followed by Italy and France.
