ANTALYA (AA) - Children who have lost parents and families in the tsunami and earthquake stricken regions of south Asia will be invited to Antalya for holiday.
According to a written press release by the Antalya Governor's office, hundreds of thousands of individuals died and many more were injured in the areas of south Asia where tsunami and earthquake took place. ''Millions were left without homes and jobs. There are still problems faced in the treatment of the injured due to poor conditions,'' said the Antalya Governor's statement.
As a nation that went through a devastating earthquake in Marmara region of Turkey in 1999, the Turkish people understand the difficulty south Asia faced and continues to face. The Mediterranean Touristic Hotels Union (AKTOB), under the coordination of the Antalya Governor's office, has asked the Turkish Ministry of Foreign Affairs to provide the names of all children who were badly affected by tsunami and earthquake in south Asia. Once the name list comes to AKTOB, an invitation will be sent to each child to host them in Antalya in 2005 for holiday.''
