ANKARA (AA) - President Viktor Yushchenko of Ukraine said, ''during our meetings with Mr. President Ahmet Necdet Sezer, we both saw new perspectives of Turkey-Ukraine relations.''
President Sezer hosted a dinner in honor of Yushchenko in Ankara on Tuesday.
Yushchenko said, ''Turkey and Ukraine have similar values. Partnership between Turkey and Ukraine may help us reach our national aims.''
Implementation of joint investment projects, assessment of transit potential of the two countries and active economic cooperation like development of trade constitute the basis of this partnership, he added.
Yushchenko said, ''this partnership brings about experience and there are facilities to extend this experience to areas of defense industry and technology.''
Yushchenko thanked Turkey for its support to Ukraine's strategical target of EU membership.
Turkish Parliament Speaker Bulent Arinc, Chief of General Staff Gen. Hilmi Ozkok, state ministers Besir Atalay and Kursad Tuzmen, Energy & Natural Resources Minister Hilmi Guler, Transportation Minister Binali Yildirim and Republican People's Party (CHP) leader Deniz Baykal also attended the dinner.
