ATHENS (AA) - Turkish Justice Minister Cemil Cicek met Greek Justice Minister Anastasios Papaligouras in Athens on Tuesday.
Speaking to reporters after the meeting, Cicek said, ''I arrived in Athens upon invitation of Mr. Papaligouras and we had a fruitful meeting.''
''Papaligouras is the first ever Greek Justice Minister who visited Turkey. We exert efforts to contribute to good relations between Turkey and Greece,'' added Cicek.
''During the meeting, we have discussed the protocol on legal cooperation between our two countries which we will sign tomorrow. The text is ready. There is no problem. We do not have problems in legal area,'' said Cicek.
Cicek said, ''we have exchanged views about ombudsman issue. As you know, Turkey cooperates with Greece in this issue. We have prepared the required law and presented it. The law was delayed due to busy schedule of Turkish parliament. However, there is no lack of determination about the law.''
Following the meetings between Turkish and Greek delegations on Wednesday, two ministers will sign the protocol and then they will hold a joint news conference.
Justice Minister Cicek will meet Greek Parliament Speaker Anna Psarouda-Benaki on June 9th.
