TEL AVIV (AA) - Turkish Health Minister Recep Akdag, who is currently in Israel upon formal invitation of Israeli Health Minister Danny Naveh, said on Tuesday that Turkey and Israel could cooperate in production and distribution of medicine in the Middle East.
Akdag visited the Lowenstein Hospital, Seeba Medical Center and Teva Medicine Factory.
Following the visits, Akdag said, ''in Israel, emergency aid depends on voluntary acts. We have developed a similar project for health organization in natural crises. We have begun training nearly a thousand voluntary health personnel for natural disasters, especially earthquakes.''
Recalling that Turkey and Israel had earlier signed a health cooperation agreement, Akdag added, ''we will further strengthen our cooperation with Israel. Turkey and Israel can also cooperate in production and distribution of medicine in the Middle East.''
