Azeri Defense Minister Abiyev: Turkey And Azerbaijan Are Strategic Partners

BAKU (AA) - Azeri Defense Minister Safar Abiyev has indicated Tuesday that his administration pays great attention to military ties between Turkey and Azerbaijan. ''Turkey and Azerbaijan are strategic partners,'' told Abiyev.
Turkish General Staff Defense Resources Management Administration Chairman General Ali Akdogan met Abiyev today. Welcoming Akdogan to his office, Abiyev remarked that ties between Turkey and Azerbaijan are important for future generations and should continue until eternity.
Abiyev and Akdogan discussed military ties and Akdogan said ''We will continue our strategic alliance by keeping our relations close,''.
A protocol was signed by Abiyev and Akdogan on the development of the Azeri armed forces. The protocol calls for assistance by Turkey to the Azeri military.
