ANKARA (AA) - President Viktor Yushchenko of Ukraine and his delegation visited Turkish Parliament and met Speaker Bulent Arinc today (Tuesday).
Arinc remarked that Yushchenko struggled for democracy and basic human rights. ''We congratulate Mr. Yushchenko for his efforts to promote democracy in Ukraine. We want to see strong ties among our parliaments,'' told Arinc.
Viktor Yushchenko stated that, by looking at the formation of his delegation, one can understand how the Ukrainians are interested in Turkish people. ''Turkey is a neighbor and friend of the Ukraine Republic'', told Yushchenko.
Yushchenko indicated that the ''orange revolution'' has ended and that the new government in Ukraine is establishing new ties with the main partners. ''Turkey is one of our main partners. Political, economic, humanitarian and social relations are developing rapidly between the two countries. We thank Turkey for its approach,'' noted Yushchenko.
