BUDAPEST, Jan 10 (A.A)- Hungarian Wrestling Federation Chairman Dr. Csaba Hegedus said on Thursday that they had launched an initiative to present Turkish wrestling writer Ali Gumus with the state medal of Hungary.
Dr. Csaba Hegedus who became European, world and olympiad champions in 1970s, told the A.A that it was a well-known fact that Gumus was the greatest wrestling writer of the world.
Recalling that Gumus was presented by the International Federation of Wrestling (FILA) and by other countries, Dr. Hegedus said that Budapest Sports Academy had been benefiting from books written by Gumus who is also acting as the World Sports Writers Wrestling Commission.
He added that they had applied to the Hungarian government to present Gumus with the state medal of Hungary.
Gumus will become the first Turkish sports writer who is decorated with the state medal of Hungary if he is presented with it.
