ANKARA, Jan 9 (A.A) - Parliamentary General Assembly adopted on Wednesday draft law on industrial zones.
The law foresees encouragement of investments in industrial zones under certain conditions and completion of necessary proceedings regarding investments in three months.
The law covers the establishment of industrial zones to attract Turkish people working in foreign countries to invest in Turkey and to increase foreign capital inflow.
The law envisages the foundation of ''Industrial Zones Coordination Council.'' The council will be comprised of representatives of concerned ministries and organizations and presided by the Prime Ministry Undersecretary.
The industrial zones will be set up in areas that are inconvenient for agriculture.
Organized industry zones can be converted into industrial zones if the authorities approve.
Turkish and foreign real and legal bodies who want to invest in industrial zones will apply to Industry and Trade Ministry. These bodies will prepare an Environmental Effect Estimation (CED) report and present the report to the Environment Ministry.
The permits, licences and similar proceedings required for investments will be concluded within three months.
The Council of Ministers will be authorized for encouragement of investments in industrial zones.
