GAZIANTEP, Jan 9 (A.A) - Exports of cotton and synthetic thread, carpet and textiles from the Southeastern Anatolia Project (GAP) region in the January-November period of 2001 increased 15.3 percent to 274 million 547 thousand U.S. dollars.
In the same period last year, the region exported 238 million U.S. dollars of cotton and synthetic thread, carpet and textiles.
Most of the products were exported to Syria, Saudi Arabia, Italy, the United States, Lebanon, Spain, Britain, Germany, Kazakhstan, Azerbaijan, Uzbekistan, Romania, Belgium, Israel, Bulgaria, Portugal, Greece, France and Algeria.
