Number Of Companies Opened In 2001 Reduces By 10.42 Percent

ANKARA, Jan 9 (A.A) - The Union of Turkish Chambers and Commodity Exchanges (TOBB) said that the number of companies opened in 2001 reduced by 10.42 percent when compared to companies opened in 2000.
TOBB announced its statistics about the companies opened and closed in 2001.
According to the statistics, the number of companies closed in 2001 increased by 17.44 percent when compared to companies closed in 2000.
The number of companies opened in 2001 was 49,069 while the number of companies opened in 2000 had been 54,779 while the number of companies closed in 2001 was 26,999 while the number of companies closed in 2000 had been 22,981.
In its statement, TOBB stressed that those numbers showed that the economic crisis continued.
