ANKARA, Jan 9 (A.A) - Tansu Ciller, the leader of the True Path Party (DYP) said on Wednesday that Turkey's Iraq policy has to be clear, calling Prime Minister Bulent Ecevit to revive the peace and democratization process started by signing of Ankara Agreement when DYP was in power.
Addressing the parliamentary group meeting, Ciller claimed that Turkey didn't have a consistent foreign policy and noted that this hesitant stance didn't lead to warm relations with the Islamic countries.
Criticizing the non-inclusion of terrorist organizations PKK and DHKP/C in the EU's list of terrorist organizations, Ciller said that ''is the non-inclusion of PKK in the EU's list of terrorist organizations and the demolition of an Ottoman castle in Islamic world just a coincidence?''
Noting that the Arabic peninsula was under the Ottoman sovereignty for hundreds of years, Ciller said that the Ottomans didn't consider themselves as invaders there.
Ciller said that building modern buildings around Kaabah will not be a proper behaviour, adding that ''sacred territories are common geography of the Muslims. The Saudi administration has to know that it is not the owner of Mecca and Medina.''
Referring to Turkey's Iraqi policy, Ciller called Prime Minister Ecevit to revive the process started by signing of Ankara Agreement by the participation of the U.S. and Britain. Ciller asserted that Turkey's Iraq policy should not be from person to person, but from state to state and within the framework of territorial integrity of Iraq.
