ANKARA, Jan 8 (A.A) - The Treasury Undersecretariat held two auctions on Tuesday to sell 238-day and 140-day bonds.
In the auction for 238-day bonds, the total bid had been 3 quadrillion 420.2 trillion Turkish liras (TL) while Treasury sold 2 quadrillion 695.8 trillion TL of nominal-valued 238-day bonds. The net sale became 1 quadrillion 895.8 trillion TL.
The composite interest rate became 71.34 percent and simple interest rate became 64.54 percent, and a total of 380.2 trillion TL of bonds were sold to public.
Meanwhile, in the auction for 140-day bonds, the total bid had been 1 quadrillion 606.5 trillion Turkish liras (TL) while Treasury sold 1 quadrillion 501.8 trillion TL of nominal-valued 140-day bonds. The net sale became 1 quadrillion 221.9 trillion TL.
The composite interest rate became 70.99 percent and simple interest rate became 59.58 percent, and a total of 41.7 trillion TL of bonds were sold to public.
Meanwhile, all bonds were issued with ''single price auction system''.
The maturity of 238-day bonds is September 4, 2002 and maturity of 140-day bonds is May 29, 2002.
