Industrial Production Decreases By 13.9 Percent

ANKARA, Jan 8 (A.A) - Industrial production decreased by 13.9 percent in November of 2001 compared to figures of the same period last year.
The State Institute of Statistics (DIE) released a statement on Tuesday, and announced monthly industrial production index.
The statement said that manufacturing industry production decreased by 15.2 percent; mining industry production decreased by 17.9 percent; electricity, gas and water production increased by 0.6 percent in November of 2001, over to the same period of the previous year.
It said that total industrial production decreased by 8.8 percent, mining industry decreased by 7.9 percent and manufacturing industry decreased by 9.7 percent, and electricity, gas and water industry decreased by 1.9 percent in eleven months of 2001, over to the same period of the previous year.
