GEBZE, Jan 7 (A.A) - Zeynel Karatas who had been fasting to death at the F-type prison in northwestern province of Tekirdag since May 11, 2001, died on Sunday.
Karatas, 23, had been arrested on charges of being a member of illegal Turkish Communist Party Marxist-Lenininst/Turkish Workers and Peasant Liberation Army (TKP-ML/TIKKO) and of being involved in illegal activities on behalf of the organization.
He was buried in Gebze township under tight security measures.
