CIRCULAR FOR BUREAUCRATS
Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan issued a circular for bureaucrats to make savings in their official visits to foreign countries. It noted that public officers should travel abroad only on compulsory conditions. The circular stated that bureaucrats should travel by train or bus in the country instead of plane.

ERDOGAN: ''TURKEY AIMS TO BECOME FULL MEMBER OF EU''
Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan said that Turkey would become a full member of the European Union (EU). ''Regardless of the result of possible elections in Germany, I believe our relations with Germany will be fruitful in the future as well,'' he noted. In an interview with German Bild am Sonntag newspaper, Erdogan assessed the situation if German Christian Democrats (CDU) leader Angela Merkel takes power after an early election in Germany. ''We attach importance to our relations with Germany. It is a second nation for 3 million Turks. I sincerely believe that strengthening of our relations will be interest of both peoples. Regardless of the result of possible elections in Germany, I believe our relations with Germany will be fruitful in the future as well,'' said Erdogan.

HARSH RESPONSE TO SEZER
Turkish Premier Recep Tayyip Erdogan replied to President Ahmet Necdet Sezer who criticized proxy system in bureaucracy. Erdogan said, ''those who criticize us of being politicized shall be careful. They shall not become politicized.''

WHAT A PITY
Turkish soccer team missed an important chance in its match with Greece at World Cup qualifier yesterday. Turkish team could not beat defense of Greece and they played to a 0-0 draw.

GUL REITERATES TURKEY'S DETERMINATION IN ITS REFORMS
Turkish Foreign Minister & Deputy Prime Minister Abdullah Gul attended the opening ceremony of traditional European Forum in Vienna together with his Austrian counterpart Ursula Plasssnik.
Mentioning the results of the referenda held in France and the Netherlands regarding the European Union (EU) Constitution, Gul said, ''I am sure Europe will overcome the recent developments.''
Gul reiterated that Turkey was determined in its reforms.

PKK TERRORIST IBRAHIM RELEASED ON BAIL
PKK terrorist Ibrahim Parlak, who was serving imprisonment terms in Michigan for 10 months on charges of hiding his past, was released. His American neighbors paid the 50,000 USD fine by opening a web site and arranging a night for him.

U.S. REACTION TO MISSILE ON HATAY
U.S. administration condemned Damascus which claimed it mistakenly launched Scud missile on southern city of Hatay in Turkey. The United States said, ''we have information that Syria launched Scud missiles. Damascus is acting wrongly.''

U.S. administration stated that pieces of Scud missiles of Syria which broke up over Turkey show that Damascus administration does not take part in Middle East peace process. U.S. New York Times wrote that Syria test-fired 3 Scud missiles in previous days, and pieces which broke up over Hatay city of Turkey are parts of these missiles.

LOW SALARY TO POOR CITIES
Ankara Industry Chamber Chairman Zafer Caglayan suggested that minimum wage should be fixed locally or according to sectors to solve unemployment problem of Turkey.

CYPRUS POLEMIC
Politicians reacted to the statement of Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan who said, ''the situation in Turkey would be like the situation between Lebanon and Syria if we had continued the existing policies about Cyprus for years.'' Republican People's Party (CHP) leader Deniz Baykal stated that Erdogan's statement would cause troubles, adding that Mr. Prime Minister was not aware of what he said. Motherland Party (ANAP) leader Erkan Mumcu said that Erdogan made a big mistake.

USD 550 MILLION TO TRNC
Turkey and Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC) signed economic & financial cooperation additional protocol in Lefkosa. The protocol foresees that 100 million USD would be added to 450 million USD financial support to TRNC which was included in the economic & financial protocol signed between the two countries in 2003. It also noted that the protocol will be extended till 2006.

TURKEY: 0 - GREECE: 0
Turkey and Greece played to a 0-0 draw in a World Cup qualifier on Saturday. The draw gives European champion Greece 15 points in Group 2 and an important advantage over Turkey in reaching the final tournament. Turkey, a semifinalist at the last World Cup, has 13 points.
'TURKISH DAY' FESTIVAL IN BERLIN
Turkish Day Festival 2005 was celebrated in Berlin, Germany. Turkish Ambassador in Berlin Mehmet Ali Irtemcelik, Turkish consuls general in Germany, representatives of Turkish organizations and many people attended ''Turkish Day Festival Parade''.

THE YOUNG MAN HIT BY MISSILE PARTS WANTS COMPENSATION FROM THE UN
Following the news report that the United Nations pays compensation to those who was negatively affected from the Gulf War, another unjustly treated man, Murat Genc appeared.
Genc became partially paralyzed after pieces of the Patriot missile, which the Americans launched mistakenly in 1991, hit on his head. Genc had a brain operation and 10 other operations from various parts of his body. The young man can hardly walk and speak.
Genc is unaware of the compensation which the UN had paid through Turkish Foreign Ministry. The applications expired in 1993. The young man wanted compensation to be paid to him.

MERKEL INTERPRETATION FROM ERDOGAN: BASIC POLITICAL LINES OF STATES ARE LASTING
Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan expressed belief that Turkish-German relations would be very fruitful in the future regardless of the results of possible elections in Germany.
In an interview with German Bild am Sonntag newspaper, Erdogan assessed the situation if German Christian Democrats (CDU) leader Angela Merkel takes power after an early election in Germany.
When recalled that Merkel is against Turkey's EU membership, Erdogan said, ''EU showed many times that it is ready to accept Turkey's membership. Decisions which were taken in Helsinki in 1999, Copenhagen in 2002, and Brussels in 2004. Political parties are transient, but basic political lines of states rarely change.''

Turkish Premier Recep Tayyip Erdogan said, ''we do not overshadow our strategical partnership with the United States.'' He noted, ''during recent NATO meeting, U.S. President George Bush clearly told me 'what do you want me to do? If you want me to visit Turkey, I will. If there is anything else you want me to do, I will'.''
