Talat: Greek Cypriot Side Did Not Make Any Proposal

ANKARA (AA) - President of Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC) Mehmet Ali Talat left Ankara today, after holding meetings which focused on the latest developments in Cyprus and the steps that will be taken from now on.
     Prior to his departure, Talat told reporters at the airport that they held two fruitful meetings with Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan and Foreign Minister & Deputy Prime Minister Abdullah Gul in Ankara. ''We had to hold this consultations for not to have any difference on policies regarding Cyprus issue. We keep consulting,'' said Talat.
     Talat noted that UN Under-Secretary-General for Political Affairs Sir Kieran Prendergast's visit to TRNC was a very important one and stated that Prendergast conveyed Greek Cypriot side's concerns to them.
     ''Greek Cypriot side did not make any proposal,'' Talat stressed, stating that Greek Cypriot leader Tassos Papadopoulos did not give an answer to UN Secretary General who said he expected new proposals.
     Noting that TRNC and Turkey have no disagreement on Cyprus issue, Talat stated that they were leaving Ankara after reaching full consensus.
