LAUSANNE- Greek weightlifter Leonidas Sampanis withdrew an appeal of his doping disqualification from the 2004 Olympics.
He did not say why he abandoned the appeal, the Court of Arbitration for Sport said Friday.
Sampanis was stripped of his bronze medal in the 137-pound division and expelled from the Athens Games after a doping test showed an abnormally high level of testosterone.
Sampanis, who won silver medals in 1996 and 2000, has denied wrongdoing, contending someone could have slipped him a banned substance without his knowledge.
