ISTANBUL (AA) - International Monetary Fund (IMF) delegation headed by Turkey Desk Chief Lorenzo Giorgianni met on Thursday Mustafa Uysal, the President of Tax Council.
IMF's new representative in Turkey Hugh Brendenkamp also attended the meeting which lasted for 2 hours.
Uysal, speaking to reporters following the meeting, stated that re-structuring of tax system was discussed in general.
Uysal said important steps have been made to ensure economic stability with the program that has been implemented in the past two years in re-structuring period, yet noted that structure of the tax system was the biggest obstacle in front of this.
Uysal said at the meeting they stated that rate of Corporation Tax should be dropped to prevent unregistered economy and to accelerate direct capital inflow.
Uysal stated that the draft law about structuring of Income Administration was an important step, yet noted that expectations to form a strong Income Administration could not be met.
